Steelers place Golson, Harris on IR

Senquez Golson AP

The Steelers have placed cornerback Senquez Golson and offensive tackle Ryan Harris on their injured-reserve list.

Harris was injured in last week’s game vs. the Chiefs while subbing for starting right tackle Marcus Gilbert, who was also injured and is out of this week’s game vs. the Jets. Golson has been out since suffering a foot injury in August.

With Harris and Gilbert unavailable Chris Hubbard is the likely starting right tackle Sunday, though center Maurkice Pouncey took some reps at right tackle earlier in the week.

The Steelers promoted offensive lineman Matt Feiler and cornerback Al-Hajj Shabazz from the practice squad to fill the vacated active roster spots. Given that seven players are out for the Jets game even after the moves involving Harris and Golson, both Feiler and Shabazz could see immediate action.

The Jets are a desperate 1-3 and have a top flight Dline. The Steelers Oline is in disarray due to injury. If I were Roethlisberger, I’d be getting the ball out in a hurry.

The Steelers should change that horrible logo of theirs. Forget tradition. It needs an update.

Being down 1 starter out of 5 makes it “disarray?”

    Okay…

While not at full strength, they will be fine.

THE POST cites two Steelers O-lineman who are unavailable. Others are banged up. Why not read before making a fool of yourself?

However, be my guest. Annihilate the Jets 45-0 I don’t root for them anyways.

Yes, they’re down 2 OL, but it’s 1 position. So they have 4 out of 5 starters, and are left with a 2nd backup at RT.

They had a 3rd stringer play LG and a backup playing RT this past week – how did that work out? Their RB ran for 140+ and their QB threw for 5 TDs? Sure did.

And as much as I would like to play a role in deciding these games, I do not. Thanks for the invite though.

Looks like Golson needs to hang it up. His body is betraying him. Shame. I thought he’d be pretty good

Everything is all systems go then Put a beatdown on the Jets. 45-0 would teach them to show up.

These are 2 talented football teams. It will be close. The Steelers are banged up but they dealt with this all of last season. The Jets are due for a good performance and the d line will give Pittsburgh trouble. Steelers win at home by a field goal.
