Kubiak taken to hospital with flu-like symptoms

Broncos Coach Gary Kubiak was taken to a Denver-area hospital after Sunday’s loss to the Falcons.

The Broncos said Kubiak is suffering from flu-like symptoms and was taken to the hospital as a precaution. Team spokesman Patrick Smyth wrote on Twitter that Kubiak is currently being evaluated.

Kubiak suffered a mini-stroke in Nov. 2013 when he was head coach of the Texans. He collapsed at halftime of a game vs. the Colts and has said since that he’s made some lifestyle changes and has felt fine.

The Broncos, who lost a 23-16 game to the Falcons Sunday, play at the Chargers Thursday night.

Taken to the hospital for flu-like symptoms? Seems a bit extreme. I know the flu can be dangerous for the really young/old or those in poor health, but see this fairly commonly w/ NFL types. Either way, hope flu is all it is

If he has flu-like symptoms he could be very dehydrated. Would definitely need an IV and an evaluation. Get well coach!

Looking at some of the comments is disappointing to say the least. An article about the health of someone that’s already suffered a stroke in the past is hardly the place to display a lack of human decency.

Hoping for the best and a quick return to good health.
