Paxton Lynch’s first half as a starter is a forgettable one

AP

Broncos first-rounder Paxton Lynch stepped in last week and played pretty efficiently.

But he walked into that game against the Buccaneers with a lead, and without one today, hasn’t looked as sharp.

Lynch has been a little inaccurate and inconsistent in the first half, as the rookie quarterback’s team trails the Falcons 13-3 at the half.

Lynch is 3-of-8 for 45 yards passing, and fumbled once (he recovered his own), as the Broncos have sagged against a Falcons defense which is playing beyond expectations, holding the Broncos to 76 yards in the first half.

Falcons linebacker Vic Beasley has two sacks already, and they’re doing a good job of confusing the rookie, who is starting for an injured Trevor Siemian.

I guess when Atlanta wins Bronco fans can blame it on the rook. Where is that defence ? Atl offence is for real.

Oh well. Bad day. Out of conference game. Good learning experience. Let’s get ready for a division game on a short week.

Kind of a huge indictment on Tampa’s coaching staff because Atlanta’s defensive personnel isn’t any better than theirs.

Lynch is no where near ready to be a starter and the Falcons know it.

Check the history books… Yes Lynch looked good last week BUT the bucs have a history of making second and even third string qbs look like 1st starts…

Falcons against the top defense look for real!
