The first drive of Sunday’s game for the Bills included a play that would be a lead on a lowlight film if not for what Tyrod Taylor was able to do after a major mental error.

Taylor lined up in the shotgun behind left guard Richie Incognito and didn’t realize it until he called for a snap that came from center Eric Wood. The ball sailed past Taylor and he recovered for an 18-yard loss that he was able to wipe out two plays later with a 22-yard scramble through the Rams defense for a first down.

Taylor would cap the 11-play, 72-yard drive by showing off his elusiveness again. He scrambled long enough for Justin Hunter to break open for his first catch and first touchdown as a member of the Bills. That gave the Bills a 7-3 lead in Los Angeles with 2:22 to play in the first half.

The Rams opened the game with a strong drive of their own, but a false start made for a long third down in the red zone that the Rams couldn’t convert. They settled for a Greg Zuerlein field goal after going 60 yards in 12 plays.
