Colts cornerback Darius Butler suffered a fractured finger in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s win over the Bears, Colts coach Chuck Pagano said Monday.

Pagano said Butler will have surgery Tuesday morning.

“They’ve got to put a plate in there, so his availability for this week [vs. the Texans] is obviously in jeopardy,” Pagano said.

The Colts have been hit hard by injuries at cornerback. Sunday’s game was just the second this season for Butler. He was injured in Week 2 in Denver while returning an interception.

Pagano said cornerback Patrick Robinson is also dealing with a knee injury and a groin injury. Robinson struggled Sunday and was targeted repeatedly by the Bears, but Pagano said he still has “all the confidence in the world” in Robinson.

“You know where I cut my teeth and where I spent all my time as a secondary coach,” Pagano said. “I’ve coached Hall of Famers that had tough days. He will bounce back and he’ll respond.”
