Washington seems intent on adding some size to the middle of their line to help their run defense.

According to Mike Jones of the Washington Post, veteran defensive tackles Phil Taylor and Terrance Knighton are working out for the team today.

Knighton’s a known commodity, as he started 15 games there last year. But that didn’t lead to the contract he was hoping for, so he went to New England, but was cut in the preseason and hasn’t turned up since.

Taylor, a former first-rounder of the Browns, has been a good run-stopper when well. But that hasn’t been lately, as the Broncos put him on injured reserve in July, releasing him after that. He didn’t play in 2015 after being released by the Browns, and he’ll need to prove that his knee will allow him to play.
