Colin Kaepernick back in the starting lineup for the 49ers

The 49ers would take it if Colin Kaepernick takes another knee during a game.

Because it would mean their starting quarterback is closing out a win.

Coach Chip Kelly just told reporters that Kaepernick would return to the starting quarterback job for the 49ers, replacing Blaine Gabbert.

Kaepernick hasn’t started a game since Nov. 1, 2015, and an offseason full of surgeries kept him from taking the job away from the ineffective Gabbert sooner.

Since then, he’s become a national weathervane, after protesting police brutality and racial inequality by taking a knee during the national anthem.

Now we’ll see if he can lead a team on the field again, and return to the form he showed when he helped them to a Super Bowl.
