The Cowboys have a bye after their Week Six game against the Packers, which would give wide receiver Dez Bryant two more weeks to recover from the hairline fracture in his knee if he doesn’t play this weekend.

It will probably be close to Sunday before the determination about his spot in the lineup will be made. During an appearance on 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said that Bryant was close to playing in Week Five before a reminder of the injury ruled that out.

“We’ll have to see how he works this week,” Jones said, via the team’s website. “We won’t take any chances there, but with the way he was running at the end of last week, he had some sensitivity or he would’ve played. But we’ll take a good look at it this week.”

When Jones discussed the team’s quarterback situation on Tuesday, he said that Dak Prescott’s play gave the team the luxury to give Romo time to get all the way back to 100 percent. The same could be said of Bryant as the Cowboys have won twice without him and stand at 4-1 heading into the trip to Lambeau Field.
