Dolphins cut offensive linemen Billy Turner, Dallas Thomas

Dolphins coach Adam Gase has already benched people to send messages.

Now he’s cutting them.

According to Adam Caplan of ESPN, the Dolphins are cutting guard Billy Turner. Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald adds that Dallas Thomas is being released as well.

Turner, a former third-round pick from North Dakota State, started the last two weeks at right guard. He started 12 games for the Dolphins last year. Thomas, a former third-rounder from Tennessee, filled in last week but was a 16-game starter for them a year ago.

With Gase outing the offensive line as the reason for quarterback Ryan Tannehill’s struggles, moves along the line aren’t unsurprising. And it’s clear that messages are being sent.
