Jeremy Hill: It’s put up or shut up time for Bengals

The Bengals are off to a 2-3 start this season and are coming off a 28-14 loss to the Cowboys that never felt quite as close as that final score might indicate.

The three losses have come in different ways and each game has seen different parts of the team play well while others fail to hold up their end of the bargain. Wide receiver Brandon LaFell called for more consistency across all phases of the team, but running back Jeremy Hill said it’s not time to talk about what’s wrong with the team. For Hill, it’s just time to go out and do it.

“You can’t make any more excuses about it,” Hill said, via the Cincinnati Enquirer. “You can’t say oh, we need to do this or that -- you just gotta go out there and do it. For us, it’s put up or shut up time for us, especially as an offense. We haven’t played at the level that we need, and are capable, of playing. We’ve got to go out there and do it, bottom line.”

The offense may be under particular pressure to come together for a better performance this weekend. The Bengals will be in New England for Tom Brady’s first post-suspension home game and history says he’ll be shooting for the same kind of big numbers in that spot that he got in Cleveland last Sunday.
