Running back Justin Forsett has found a new gig a week after being released by the Ravens.

Reports of Forsett’s impending visit with the Lions broke over the weekend and things went well enough that Forsett will be sticking around Detroit for a while. There hasn’t been an official announcement of the deal from the team, but there have been multiple reports to that effect while Forsett has posted his own greeting to Lions fans on Twitter.

Forsett ran for 98 yards on 31 carries for the Ravens in their first three games of the season. It was his third year with the Ravens, who signed Forsett in 2014 and got a 1,266-yard season from him in his first year in Baltimore. Injuries limited Forsett to 10 games last season.

The Lions placed Ameer Abdullah on injured reserve earlier this year, leaving them with Theo Riddick, Dwayne Washington and Zach Zenner at running back. Washington did not play in Week Five due to an ankle injury and the Lions used wide receiver Golden Tate in the backfield at times.

Pretty good add for Detroit. Now, about that Head Coach…..

Detroit is a pretty good destination for Forsett, all things considered. He’ll have a chance to get a lot of touches. However while the Baltimore offensive line wasn’t doing him any favors, Detroit’s line probably won’t do him many either. The Lions will find out just how much he’s got left pretty quickly.

He’s a pro’s pro and will be an asset on and off the field. Our loss is your gain. He’s not a power back and our oline didn’t open any holes for him to break away, nor our current backs.

I am surprised this took so long. With his links to Caldwell I expected this when I first heard he was on the market.

No seriously, what is Forsett going to do in Detroit? Is he someone’s driver?
