The Broncos got thrown a curveball on the coaching front this week with Gary Kubiak getting sick on Sunday and spending the night in the hospital, leading to the decision to hand the reins to special teams coach Joe DeCamillis for Thursday night’s game while Kubiak recovers.
One of the decisions that DeCamillis will be involved in as the interim head coach will be the call about who starts at quarterback for the Broncos this week. Trevor Siemian sat with a left shoulder injury in Week Five and rookie Paxton Lynch started in the loss to the Falcons.
DeCamillis said that Siemian will be listed as a limited participant in Tuesday’s practice and that it will be a “collective decision” about whether he returns to the lineup. Siemian believes he will ultimately be the choice.
“Yeah, I think so. I think I’m expecting to play,” Siemian said, via ESPN.com.
The Broncos will release their final injury report for the game against the Chargers on Wednesday and it should let us know whether Siemian is reading the situation correctly.
