Eddie Lacy not practicing today, status for this week up in the air

Packers running back Eddie Lacy isn’t practicing today, and it’s unclear if he’ll be ready to go against the Cowboys Sunday.

Lacy had to leave Sunday night’s win over the Giants because of a sprained left ankle and didn’t return, and they’re still trying to determine what he’ll be able to do this week.

We’re still evaluating some things,” Packers coach Mike McCarthy said, via Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com. “We’ll see how Eddie moves around today in the rehab.”

The Packers are ill-equipped to deal with his absence, as they have just one other running back on the roster, veteran James Starks. They carry a fullback (Aaron Ripowski), but would likely have to make a roster move if Lacy is unable to go.

How do you have only two running backs on your roster? seems like a bit of a risk for a position that takes a ton of hits.

Now we can run those 7 receiver sets.

    Phat Eddie will be there.

As big as he is with an ankle injury….

    Starks better start getting ready

Fat Eddie will only get fatter with a sprained kankle.

As painful as it is for me to say this. “GO COWBOYS”

Just like dangling a rabbit in front of a dog to make it run, put a cheeseburger on a stick and watch Eddie waddle.

I believe Jhurell Pressley is still available.

What about Randall “Tex” Cobb’s status. He is a man of uncommon valor.

  11. crownofthehelmet says: Oct 12, 2016 4:45 PM

They should just have one of their other 300-pound Olineman fill in at running back.

Eddie decides which games he wants to play in, not Mike. Just like Eddie doesn’t lose weight like Mike wants him to.

It’s Eddie’s world, and we’re all just feeding him food in it.

Amazing, the vike trolls are out full force, even when they finally actually have a competitive team. The psychopathology runs deep.

    Dear Vikings trolls:

We all understand that you are rooting for Dallas. That’s fine. We know you’re scared of what we’ll be by the end of the year. But seriously, your team is one bye this week. Get a life. Find something else to do.

PS: I have my doubts Eddie will play either. But both Cobb and Monty have experience as RBs. It’s quite possible that they’ll be the backups to Starks. No need for a 3rd down back when you’ve already got 2 slot WRs who can perform well in that role.

I suspect Cobb and Ty Montgomery will be getting a lot of practice reps in the backfield this week.

“Next man up”, right Fudge fans?

It’s your bye week, Vike fans, take some time off. Or have you no lives? Oh, wait, nevermind.

Still waiting for you to write something funny. I could care less who it’s about. Bears, Vikings, Packers. Anything. Just once. You have tons of subject matter to work with, and you fall on your face every time.

    Blow out. 34-17 Dallas.

  20. dickshotdogs says: Oct 12, 2016 6:29 PM

    Starks is always ready.

  21. ben444 says: Oct 12, 2016 7:24 PM

    Hopefully Eddie can go.

I cringe every time Starks comes in the game.

Packers will go 13-3 but I am not sure they will win their division.

    Go Pack Go.

    and the Falcons too!

I must have been on vacation the day the rule was released that if your team was on a bye week that you had to stop posting on this site. I am sure all the Packer trolls followed this rule religiously when they had their bye, because they are the smartest, classiest, best fans in the NFL, just ask them.

What the hell are the Packers doing with their roster then? I do find Joe Callahan, third string QB listed as a third RB as well. He could drop the clipboard and actually wear a jockstrap.

  25. ulissep says: Oct 13, 2016 3:08 AM

James Starks hasn’t got anything left in the tank: he’s been painful to watch the past few weeks. And since TT hates change-of-pace backs, we’re stuck with two similar RB’s and one rarely used FB. I guess we’ll have to rely on Rodgers even more than usual. And on McCarthy’s unimaginative play-calling, of course.

  26. numba1wiscosportsfan says: Oct 13, 2016 8:17 AM

Oh, fellow PACK fans ripping the vike’s fans for commenting on this page. Why so insecure? We have nice things. Don’t be a hypocrite. GO. PACK.

Eddie gets support from his Green Bay fans. And even Bears fans, who like movies, such as Traitors of the Lost Ark. I got a chuckle out of that one. Your turn.
