Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has been involved in his share of post-play scuffles and other extracurricular on-field activities.

Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith knows this, and on Wednesday he delivered a message to Beckham ahead of Sunday’s Ravens-Giants game.

“All of that extra hitting and talking, that’s not going to fly,” Smith said, per ESPN.com. “That’s not my game. I like to line up and play. Give me your best shot, and I’ll give you mine.

“But if you hit me after the whistle, there’s going to be a fight.”

The Giants have been working to get Beckham more involved in their offense and to move past some of his outbursts and post-play incidents. Beckham caught his first touchdown pass of the season last week vs. the Packers.

The Ravens rank in the top five in the NFL in pass defense but have given up big plays to opposing No. 1 receivers. It’s too early to know if Smith and Beckham will be matched up all day, but Smith said he welcomes the challenge.

“He’s a physical player, and I’m a physical player,” Smith said. “So, I’m pretty sure we’ll have a good matchup.”

Both teams need a win. The Ravens have lost two straight to slip to 3-2. The Giants are 2-3 and in danger of falling well behind the leaders in the NFC East.
