The latest chapter in the long and winding career of Justin Forsett will unfold in Detroit. He’s ready for the challenge, even if he’s being doubted.

Watch me,” Forsett told reporters on Wednesday, via Justin Rogers of the Detroit News.

The question is whether and to what extent we’ll see Forsett. He joins a depth chart currently led by Theo Riddick. And Forsett will be required to learn the offense on the fly.

I just want to be used,” Forsett said, via Brendan Savage of MLive.com. “That’s the main reason and my main purpose. As long as they use me, I’m ready for it.”

Forsett turns 31 on Friday, and the clock will be ticking on his ability to earn reps with his latest new team. Since arriving to the NFL in 2008, he has spent time with the Colts, Seahawks, Texans, Jaguars, and Ravens.

In 2014, Forsett rushed for 1,266 yards. He was on pace for another 1,000-yard season when he broke an arm in the tenth game of the season.

The Ravens cut Forsett before the season began, re-signed him prior to Week One, and then cut him again after Week Four. He’ll be entitled to collect the balance of his $3 million salary as termination pay (unless he has previously received termination pay), and he’ll be permitted to keep whatever he gets from the Lions.
