Vic Beasley has learned a lot from Dwight Freeney

Falcons linebacker Vic Beasley explains the changes that have Atlanta at 4-1 to start his second season.

Falcons linebacker Vic Beasley had a breakthrough game on Sunday, with 3.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. The seeds for that performance were planted in part by the decision to add Dwight Freeney to the roster.

“Obviously having Dwight Freeney come in and help us with the pass rush definitely helped us boost our motivation to get to the quarterback,” Beasley said on Friday’s PFT Live on NBC Sports Radio and NBCSN.

Beasley said that, apart from learning how to take his spin move “to another level,” he has learned from Freeney “just being relentless.”

The relentless extends beyond the pursuit of the quarterback and includes “laying it all out there on the line.”

The Falcons have done that over the last four games, capped by back-to-back wins over the Super Bowl teams from a year ago. The ultimate test comes on Sunday, when the Falcons face the Seahawks in Seattle.
