Ben Roethlisberger to have MRI on knee

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was able to return to Sunday’s loss to the Dolphins after injuring his knee in the first half of the game, but he’ll still be getting tests to see what damage might have been done.

Roethlisberger said after the game, via Aditi Kinkhabwala of NFL Media, that his left knee is black and blue and “obviously hurts.” He also said that he’ll be getting an MRI to provide further evaluation of the injury.

Roethlisberger was 19-of-34 for 189 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions in a game that saw the Steelers take an early 8-3 lead that the Dolphins erased on their way to a 30-15 victory.

The Steelers obviously want to have Roethlisberger in the lineup every week, but they host the Patriots next Sunday so his presence would be even more appreciated than it might be in some other circumstances.

Shouldn’t be an issue, the Steelers are gonna spear the Dolphins.
Unless the don’t. Biggest upset of the day.

If Roethlisberger can’t go next week vs the Patriots, there’s going to be a whole lot of CBS execs hitting the bottle. Now that we’re into week seven, the games have added importance. It’s doubtful that the nation would get overly excited about a Tom Brady – Landry Jones matchup

I honestly believe the whole Steeler team got caught looking ahead to next Sunday Night with NE – NOBODY expected them to to get beat down here – especially like that, even though they’re famous for losing to teams in trouble!
But from what I saw today – Tomlins got a lot of work to do
before Sunday & unless his knee is busted – Big Ben is least of those problems!

He’ll play. He loves making it look much worse so the hero parade is bigger when he comes back. I called this loss by the way, such a predictable Tomlin move.

Stiller Fans need to face the truth, this is NOT a SB team.

The media overblew their first month play, this is the real Stillers. They are a 9-7/10-6 Team With a healthy Ben. 5-11 without.

I’m surprised that the greatest offensive football team in the history of the NFL only put up 15 points.

I’m not surprised there wasn’t any announcement of the Dolphins’ huge upset victory. Some people just have a hard time facing the unexpected.

Lol, of course he is. Pigben’s rule. – 2 picks = mandatory mri.

I’m guessing Ben will be the one disclosing the finding of the mri as well, not the coach or team dr or anyone else with authority.

Without Ben, the Steelers are in trouble. He had to come back in pain because Jones is terrible. Good luck Big Ben!

I usually don’t enjoy reading that somebody got hurt, but this makes me smile whenever it happens. Nobody in the NFL is deserving of injury more.

Time for the Steelers to draft a QB. Big Ben can’t play a full season anymore.

Stop whining. Shake it off and play. What a nancy!

Boy who cried wolf, Vol 62 for Ben.

MRI will come back negative but just getting one gives him the pass from the press and teammates for the next couple days.

Believe me,whatever it is it will be magnified by him tenfold.

I saw Miami was winning and said to myself, “Time for Ben to get “injured” any time now”. Not 2 minutes later the announcer says Ben has left the game in Miami with an injury. OK, I said. Now we get to hear he miraculously returns when the outcome was no longer in doubt. Death, taxes and B.R. pulling this stunt at least once a year.

    Where did they all go?

We want Big Ben to play so the whiner coach Tomlin won’t have any built in excuses when he loses once again. Last time it was headsets not working and he cried like a baby. I remember a playoff game steelers had with jets and Rex Ryan and jets had no communication for the last quarter, Ryan never complained. Can stand excuse making loser head coaches like Tomlinson and harbaugh.

It’s a Steelers road game against a subpar team. We have seen this story before. Add in all of the walking wounded on the Steelers side and here you go.

I’m a Steelers fan, I come on after a loss to see what kind of loser’s let the gravy roll down their third chin with a big goofy toothless grin because the Steelers quarterback was injured. It’s kind of funny at the same time as pathetic.

  26. mysterytonite says: Oct 16, 2016 8:36 PM

Sorry Troy, you are one of the biggest trolls on this site so shut your pie hole. Ben is a big baby who loves to play up his injuries. Everybody knows nothing is wrong with him, he has way too much adipose tissue surrounding his his skeleton for him to ever be seriously injured. I mean this moron went headfirst into a car off his bike with no helmet. He’s the closest thing to th a real life staypuft marshmallo man.

After 24 games (2 of which were within the division) the ABC north has a total of 9 wins.
