With James Starks out and Eddie Lacy hobbling with an injured ankle, the Packers may turn to a couple of wide receivers to play some running back.
Ty Montgomery and Randall Cobb both acknowledged this week that they might take some snaps at running back today against the Cowboys.
“Honestly, I feel like we’ve always got to be ready,” Montgomery said, via ESPN. “I know I’m giving you a generic answer, but we’ve always got to be ready because you never know what could happen.”
Asked if he and Montgomery were preparing to play running back, Cobb answered, “Possibly.”
Montgomery doesn’t have much experience running the ball, but Cobb played some running back at Kentucky, ending his college career with 228 carries for 1,313 yards.
