Panthers making a game of it, but Saints strike back

The Panthers refuse to go down easily.

After falling behind 21-0, they now trail the Saints just 24-17 in the third quarter.

Cam Newton just made one of those ridiculous plays which he’s uniquely qualified to make, rolling left, facing pressure and throwing off his back foot to hit Ed Dickson for a touchdown.

That capped a drive which included a pair of fourth-down conversions, including one on a pass interference call on the Saints.

It’s a bizarre little comeback, but at 1-4, they’re more than a little desperate.

Their problem is the Saints keep getting the ball, and Coby Fleener just hauled in a 50-yard touchdown pass to push the lead back to 31-17.

Lets call a spade a spade, prior to last year the Panthers were a .500 team. They had a miraculous season last year, now they are back to normal. This is who they are.
