Patriots bring back Gronkowski the Younger

The Patriots are once again Double-Gronked.

Via Doug Kyed of NESN.com, the Patriots have brought fullback Glenn Gronkowski back to their practice squad for another stint.

Running back Tyler Gaffney has joined him in returning to the Patriots, as they each have shown signs of becoming a Ross Ventrone-like passenger in the team’s revolving door of transactions.

They cut Gronkowski, the youngest brother of All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski last week, but appear to like his little brother enough to bring him back. He spent the offseason with the Bills, and appeared in one regular season game there.

100k a year to a practice player to keep Gronk happy. Good idea if they have a spot.

Lots of Buffalove for the Gronks!

Happier about the Gaffney get than little Gronk. With Boldin injured, the Pats have literally no one to back up Lagarrette Blount. Gaffney did a nice job in TC, and it will be good to have a big back available who knows the offense. Meanwhile we lead the league with 3 potential 3rd down backs with Lewis, White, and Foster.

Still don’t understand why they haven’t gone after Marcel Reece.

I don’t recall other teams practice squad transactions getting the same amount of attention that the Patriots do.

Then again I don’t see other teams get quite as much attention as the Patriots whether it be practice squad doin’s and a transprin’s, coach press conferences, equipment failures, etc.

It’s all a bit too much at times.

Note of interest: Tom Brady needs 04 more wins to tie for the most wins in NFL history and 05 wins to become the sole possessor of the title: “Winningest Quarterback in NFL History”

Tom Brady also needs 12 regular season wins to tie for the most win in NFL Regular Season history and 13 to become the sole possessor of the title: “Winningest Quarterback in NFL Regular Season History”

It’s good to see he is approaching those records with the ability to still play unlike the guy who currently holds the records.

Reporter: Bill, what did you think of Rob’s behavior after the play on Sunday against the Bengals?

Bill: We’re on to Glenn Gronkowski.

Welll, no team seems to be. So perhaps there is something the rest of us don’t know.

On top of that, he has far fewer losses than either of the other two, no active player will catch up, and no one will beat his winning percentage.

    G.O.A.T.

You know, its little , behind the scenes, moves like this that make the Patriots the Patriots…clearly Bill sees something in baby Gronk that will ignite this team far into the playoffs…and if Bill brings a player in, then surely that player is GOLD…pure GOLD!

…unless he gets cut…then he is dead to me…

It’s not that. Baby Gronk has some skills. If we didn’t already have Devlin he might make the roster. If Devlin got hurt baby Gronk would be a decent add.

Churning the bottom of the roster as he always does, nothing different from any other year.

The one and only thing Belichick considers week to week is which players give us the best chance to win.

Some years these last couple players he can fit in get cut and re-signed 8 or 10 times in a given season

It must suck to be bald at 23 and completely overshadowed by your older brother. At the same time practice squad in the NFL is a sweet gig.
