There was concern last week that safety Reshad Jones would miss the Dolphins’ game against the Steelers because of a groin injury, but Jones was able to play and help Miami win for the second time this season by intercepting a pass.
There’s another injury concern for Jones coming out of that game, however, and this one threatens to keep him out of action for more than a week.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the team fears Jones tore his rotator cuff against Pittsburgh. He’s undergoing further tests to determine the extent of the injury, but if those fears are realized the Dolphins will likely be without Jones for the rest of the season.
Isa Abdul-Quddus has started all six games with Jones this season. Walt Aikens and Michael Thomas are the reserve options on the roster should the Dolphins need to move forward without Jones.
