Eli “can get real sick of” Beckham antics, except when he’s making plays

Odell Beckham Jr. was back to his antics in Week 6, but he racked up 222 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-23 victory.

Eli Manning, in case you haven’t noticed, isn’t the most demonstrative guy.

But the Giants quarterback admitted that while he might not be the biggest fan of wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.'s antics, he’s a lot more forgiving when it comes with the kinds of plays he makes.

The day after Beckham caught a game-winning touchdown against the Ravens (and was then penalized for pulling off his helmet), Manning said in an interview on WFAN that he was willing to overlook certain things.

“I think with the win you can ignore it a little bit easier,’’ Manning said, via the New York Post. “Kind of let the coach handle — obviously we got to be careful about getting penalties late in the game and putting our defense in a bind right there.’’

“He made plays and so it’s one of those deals where you can get real sick of it if he’s not going out there and making plays. But when he goes out and has a couple of huge catches and 200 yards and a game-winning touchdown, you still want him to be smarter, but you accept it a little easier.’’

The fact the penalty came after Beckham had eight catches for 222 yards and the game-winner against the Ravens does make it easier to overlook, but it’s clear the Giants remain concerned about his behavior, even as Beckham is courting his true love the kicking net.
