Giants sued for falling team photo

Getty Images

The Giants, already facing litigation over the authenticity of game-worn merchandise, have another lawsuit on their hands relating, sort of, to memorabilia.

Via Anthony G. Attrino of, the Giants have been sued by a woman who claims that she was injured when a large, framed team photo fell on her in 2014 at the MetLife Stadium gift shop.

53-year-old Laura Gallagher contends that the photo “fell from a shelf and violently struck her” on September 14, 2014. She also claims that the team and the stadium failed to preserve the frame as evidence.

Both the Giants and representatives from MetLife Stadium declined comment.

There’s always an opportunistic money-grabber out there trying to file suit against a business entity for something that was complete out of their control smh

“All I did was give the old fake cramping signal, and then bam they were all on the ground.”

How does a picture frame, “violently” attack you???

  7. brian55906 says: Oct 18, 2016 4:55 PM

She could have purchased the framed photo to preserve the evidence.

  8. dempsey63 says: Oct 18, 2016 4:59 PM

She was not struck by the entire team photo, just the portion featuring Josh Brown.

As a Floridian I know all about fraudulent suing practices. She must have been from Florida.

Was the frame penalized for taunting?

  11. infectorman says: Oct 18, 2016 5:05 PM

She’s probably faking the injury. That’s what Giants players AND fans do

  12. mattbilleauthor says: Oct 18, 2016 5:05 PM

The Giants only wish their team could tackle that hard.

  13. thegreatgabbert says: Oct 18, 2016 5:08 PM

I was there, it was horrible. The photo was chasing her down the street screaming curses at her. Luckily some passerbys managed to restrain it long enough for her to escape.

Quick, hire that frame for free safety! At least one Giant knows how to knock things down!

Listen to all the lawyer-haters. Wait until something falls on your heads. See if you just say, “oh what-evs” when it could have been prevented if someone didn’t cheap out on the extra $10 it would have cost to do it right the first place.

Bet that’s not the first time she’s been “violently struck” Her choice of words make it clear she is digging for gold.

  20. thegreatgabbert says: Oct 18, 2016 6:28 PM

The photo is hanging in a corner facing the wall in shame.

“It’s not like me to hit a middle aged woman. That’s not who I am. I told her three times that it wasn’t a smudge on the glass, but a birthmark on the face in the picture. But she kept rubbing and rubbing, then she started scratching with her fingernail….”.

OBJ was probably proposing to it.

  22. mogogo1 says: Oct 18, 2016 6:41 PM

September of 2014? LOL. Certainly doesn’t look suspicious at all that she took two years to take action. And how dare the team not preserve that frame indefinitely just in case she wanted to sue at some future date.

  23. bucsorbust says: Oct 18, 2016 6:41 PM

Are you kidding? That’s nothing. The Bucs fell from the top of the NFC South to the cellar, and absolutely crushed Bucs fans everywhere, as we’ve be pinned down there mercilessly for five years. There is no dollar value imaginable to cover the pain and suffering alone.

  24. bucsorbust says: Oct 18, 2016 6:44 PM

Just like baseball parks have the disclaimers with signs that say “watch for flying balls and bats” now we can expect the NFL to post signs saying “Watch for falling picture frames.”

  25. dinozzo27 says: Oct 18, 2016 6:52 PM

Given their record, I would have thought it was the JETS sign that fell

  26. JSpicoli says: Oct 18, 2016 7:09 PM

Pay her and ban her from NFL stadiums for life.

Was this the same woman who spilled coffee on herself and sued McDonalds?

  30. annes22 says: Oct 18, 2016 7:29 PM

Why didn’t she do something about it at the time. What is she, an ambulance chaser or something?? Good luck with that!!!

  31. darkneptune73 says: Oct 18, 2016 7:49 PM

You know what this has in common with every single lawsuit in America? Suing years after it happened.

    Gotta get that money somehow.

“You break it, you bought it.”

  33. jag1959 says: Oct 18, 2016 8:02 PM

I guarantee she is lying. I split season tickets with my brother and went to 6 home games in ’14 and watched the other 2. That team barely hit anybody never mind violently striking someone. As for it falling goes, she’s lucky Washington was breaking the fall in ’14 or it might have dragged her all the way to the basement.

  34. thefatlazygamer says: Oct 18, 2016 8:11 PM

By any chance did OBJ kick the wall around the same time in mid-tantrum?

  35. ariani1985 says: Oct 18, 2016 8:13 PM

can he play defense for the 200 million dollar mistake?

  36. bucsorbust says: Oct 18, 2016 8:17 PM

Hey look at the bright side, she hasn’t come forward to say Trump groped her (at least not yet). It’s all good!
