Jim Irsay has “full confidence” in Pagano, Grigson

Colts owner Jim Irsay is not ready to admit that he messed up back in January when he gave head coach Chuck Pagano and general manager Ryan Grigson new contracts.

Colts owner Jim Irsay decided in January to keep coach Chuck Pagano and G.M. Ryan Grigson. Irsay isn’t ready yet to change his mind about that decision, 2-4 record notwithstanding.

Via Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Irsay said at the league meetings in Houston that he has “full confidence” in Pagano and Grigson.

It’s not a shock that Irsay would express “full confidence” in Pagano and Grigson. Any other position would represent an admission that Irsay erred when he could have walked away from Pagano with no buyout. Irsay is now committed to both men through 2019.

Still, Irsay has made his wishes clear; he wants multiple championships during the career of quarterback Andrew Luck. In his fifth season, the team still has a long way to go to compete with the best teams in the league.

Currently, the Colts are having a hard time competing with the rest of the teams in the division. Currently, the Colts are in fourth place in the AFC South.
