Doug Martin has setback, will miss at least one more game

Buccaneers running back Doug Martin had a setback in his recovery from his hamstring injury, Bucs coach Dirk Koetter said Wednesday.

That means Martin is out for at least this week’s game vs. the 49ers. He hasn’t played since Sept. 18, when he left after seven carries in a loss at Arizona. The Bucs had been hoping he’d be able to return after their bye week and play against the 49ers, who have the league’s worst rush defense and are allowing opponents to run for more than 174 yards per game.

The Bucs had to place Martin’s primary backup, Charles Sims, on injured reserve before their last game. With Martin still out, Jacquizz Rodgers likely will start his second consecutive game this week.

Rodgers signed with the Bucs Sept. 13. He ran 30 times for 101 yards in the Bucs’ win at Carolina on Oct. 10.

    It does not matter.

    Winston is not a leader.

The bucs will always be a cellar dweller with him behind center

Bucs fans upset with Winston? Smh. Send him to SF, 49ers will gladly take a talent like Jameis. You guys don’t deserve him. Y’all can have Kap in return lol.

Muscle Hamster replaced by even smaller version in Jacquizz, the Muscle Gerbil.

The Bucs clearly saw this coming, so they signed veteran Antone Smith, who has experience playing with Quiz Rodgers. Neither are pro-bowl/HOF quality, but they will get the job done, and frankly, I like Rodgers better for what is needed (a RB to go between the tackles) than I did Chuck Sims. I’d bet Martin back for the Thursday nighter a few weeks against the Dixie Chicks (ATL).

Probably 7th season in 8 years coming in last place in division…
    (6 in a row ; 9 out of the last 13)…
    Could that be a record!

So maybe unknown HCs and a mediocre qbs is not the way to go… Mighty be good to remember that for next time!
