Fine not expected for Josh Norman’s comments about officiating

K9meKNR44gdd
After a 27-27 tie between the Bengals and the Redskins, Josh Norman rants about the inconsistency of the field judge.

A player can get fined for pretending to fire a bow and arrow. However, it’s still permissible to skewer the officials.

The NFL has reiterated to PFT via email that players face discipline for criticizing officials only when the player calls the official’s integrity into question.

In other words, a player can say about an official, “You suck,” as Norman did after Sunday’s tie in London. However, a player can’t say, for example, that an official is fixing the game or being bribed or otherwise pulling a Tim Donaghy.

So that’s the line, and a player hasn’t crossed it in a very, very long time. If ever.
