Browns coach Hue Jackson isn’t happy about what’s going on right now, but he’s not firing people either.
In addition to sticking with quarterback Cody Kessler, Jackson told reporters Monday he wasn’t planning any changes to his coaching staff, either.
Asked specifically about defensive coordinator Ray Horton’s status, Jackson made it clear there would be no overreactions.
“I say that with no question,” Jackson said, via Pat McManamon of ESPN.com. “And I don’t want to continue to get into those kind of things. That’s probably the last question I will probably take on any of our staff members about their job. Because it’s not about that at all, in my opinion.”
The Browns are giving up 30 points per game, and looked incapable of slowing the Cowboys at all yesterday. They had five scoring drives of at least 64 yards, and now the Browns have to go to work for a short-week game against the Ravens.
“I’ve never been 0-9 before, so you better believe this is the toughest challenge I’ve ever had,” Jackson said. “But I am excited about the challenge. I truly believe we have a tough road ahead of us, but we’re looking forward to it.”
And he’s looking forward to finishing with the guys he started with.
