Cleveland Browns v Tennessee Titans

The Titans deferred after winning the coin toss before their game with the Packers, but they tried to get the ball anyway after the Packers elected to receive.

Titans kicker Ryan Succop bounced a kick along the ground up the middle of the field on an onside kick designed to catch the Packers off guard at the start of the game. Linebacker Joe Thomas was able to corral the ball for the Packers, however, and Green Bay started their first drive of the game on the Tennessee side of the field.

Running back James Starks, back in the lineup for the first time in a month after having knee surgery, ran twice for six yards, but Aaron Rodgers couldn’t connect with Randall Cobb on third down and the Packers had to punt the ball away.

We’ll see if there are any other tricks up the Titans’ sleeve as the day unfolds.

UPDATE 1:13 p.m. ET: There wasn’t anything tricky about the Titans’ offensive approach, but that turned out to be a good thing. Running back DeMarco Murray went 75 yards on the first play from scrimmage to put the Titans up 7-0.
