Bills coach Rex Ryan said last week that center Eric Wood will miss the rest of the season with a broken leg and the team officially took him off the active roster on Monday.

Wood has been placed on injured reserve, ending what had been an excellent season for him after nine games. Wood remains under contract through next season, so he’ll spend his time rehabbing his injury and eating sandwiches with Billy Bob Thornton at a theater near you until the start of work in 2017.

The Bills promoted cornerback Marcus Roberson from the practice squad to fill Wood’s roster spot. He played one game for the Bills earlier this season and 24 for the Rams in 2014 and 2015.

Roberson arrives at a moment when the Bills may be contemplating changes at cornerback. Ronald Darby was benched in Week Nine and, per multiple reports, the Bills had Corey White working with the first team in their return from their bye on Monday.
