Thomas Rawls will “practice to play” this week

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll was optimistic about the chances of running back Thomas Rawls’ return to the lineup in Week 11 before the Seahawks beat the Patriots on Sunday night.

Carroll sounded even more positive about the running back getting back into action on Monday. Carroll said on “Brock and Salk” on ESPN 710 in Seattle that the team is “really excited” about adding Rawls to the backfield mix against the Eagles.

“Thomas is ready to go, yeah,” Carroll said. “We talked real earnestly about it [over] the weekend. He’s going to practice to play this week and if everything goes well, he’ll play this week.”

With Christine Michael battling a hamstring injury, rookie C.J. Prosise took over the lead role against New England and picked up 153 total yards of offense in his biggest game of the season. Having Prosise and Michael on hand allows the Seahawks to work Rawls back in without putting too much on his shoulders right away and it will give them a deep group of running backs to use as they shoot for another deep run in the playoffs.
