Report: Giovani Bernard suffered torn ACL late in game

The Bengals were having a bad day already, and it got worse.

Not only did they likely lose wide receiver A.J. Green for some amount of time to a hamstring injury, but another offensive contributor is out for the season.

According to Tom Pelissero of USA Today, Bengals running back Giovani Bernard suffered a torn ACL late in today’s loss to the Bengals.

Because the injury happened on the final drive, there was no immediate evidence he was hurt. He was playing less of a role lately in favor of Jeremy Hill, but at a time when they could be without their best offensive player, any loss is a tough one.

Huge loss for a team that wasn’t going to make the playoffs.

I feel like he may have been in a contract year, if so I feel bad for the guy

^ No he just signed a r year extension with the Bengals this offseason.

Theoretically I would like to see Gio go to the Patriots in his prime. He’s be perfect for them

He would have been had the Bengals not re-upped him this summer.

Anyway, completely sucks. Good player, good guy, and we need him. The Bengals look like they’re going nowhere this year, but the rest of the AFC North looks pretty much the same, so we still had a shot. Between Green and Bernard, though, I think that’s over now.

This blows… Lost Geo & AJ off my fantasy team in one game….
    There’s always next year I guess…

It is a lost cause this season anyways now with AJ and Gio out. Rest up for next year. Serious changes have to be made. Marvin should be moved to GM he can find talent he can’t coach it. Coordinators should go that chaos formation is tiring to see gain 2 yards time to end it and the defense is poorly fundamentally sound. Trade McCarron and get a high draft pick because they need it. No reason they should be this terrible with the talent they have. They just need the right coach to kick them in the ass and Marvin is not that coach anymore.

Bengals are still only 1.5 games out of the division lead, so haters are jumping the gun saying they’re out of the playoff hunt. Not likely to turn things around without AJ though.

Don’t cry about spilled milk Bengals fan….you made the playoffs 5 straight yrs, its time to go back to bottom of the division….lets not forget you were the Browns before the Browns…..be thankful you had the recent success you had under the worst ownership in the league….

Tough to be a Bengals fan today. I thought maybe this year they would break the playoff loss string, but I did not think it would be because of finishing 3rd in the division.

Look at the bright side. You are still better than the Browns.
