Dolphins defensive end Jason Jones has been suspended for two games and that may give the team an opportunity to see if Dion Jordan can offer anything to the team this season.

Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald reports that Jordan has been cleared to practice after spending the entire season on the non-football injury list after having knee surgery before being reinstated from his suspension by the league over the summer.

Beasley reports it’s not clear how much Jordan might do in practice, but he needs to be activated for practice this week to have any chance of playing this season.

The Dolphins will have three weeks to decide about returning Jordan to their 53-man roster. He last played in an NFL game in December 2014 and he wasn’t permitted to practice with the team while he was suspended, so there’s likely a fair amount of rust to knock off before giving any serious thought to putting him on the field in a game.
