The Seahawks released offensive lineman J’Marcus Webb on Tuesday.

Webb had started the first three games of the season at right guard with rookie Germain Ifedi injured. He had played on special teams and as a backup after Ifedi’s return but was inactive for last week’s win over the Eagles.

Webb started 16 games for the Raiders last season. He’s also played for the Vikings and Bears, who picked him in the seventh round of the 2010 draft.

No corresponding roster move was announced. The Seahawks may wait and promote a running back from the practice squad later in the week with C.J. Prosise and Troymaine Pope expected to be out due to injuries. The Seahawks added running back Zac Brooks to their practice squad on Tuesday. Running back George Farmer was already on the practice squad.
