Glover Quin had a huge hand in the Darius Slay interception

Lions cornerback Darius Slay made the play that delivered Detroit’s seventh win of the season. But safety Glover Quin had plenty to do with the outcome.

Slay explained after the 16-13 win that Glover helped Slay set up Bradford to throw the ball toward a receiver that Slay duped Bradford into thinking would be open.

We been working it all week,” Slay said, via Carlo Monarrez of the Detroit Free Press. “It’s our little deal we do when we get a speed out [route] and [Quin] makes the call. So [Quin] made a great call, put us in a great position and I made the play.”

The con began with nickel cornerback Quandre Diggs allowed receiver Adam Thielen to run away from Diggs, toward Slay. Slay then abandoned receiver Laquon Treadwell and pounced on the throw to Thielen.

"[W]e were running it in practice,” Quin said. “And I’d be like, ‘Slay, you’ve got to sell it, you’ve got to sell it, you’ve got to make it believable.’ And he took it to the game and we got the perfect situation.”

The Lions are now in a perfect situation, given the NFC North standings. With a 7-4 record and the head-to-head tiebreaker over 6-5 Minnesota, Detroit has a two-game cushion with five games to play.

And you’re currently in a perfect situation to hear Quin explain the play, plus the overall success of the 2016 Lions. He joins PFT Live at 8:50 a.m. ET, and the interview will re-air at 11:50 a.m. ET at NBCSportRadio.com.
