Saints go over the top, back on top over Rams

The Saints know they’re not going to be able to hold too many offenses in check, so they’re going to go for it when they can.

Drew Brees just put the Saints up 21-14 with a dive-over-the-top touchdown.

They’ve now converted a pair of fourth downs already on the day, and answered points off turnovers the same way the Rams did earlier.

On their side, it was Sheldon Rankins playing the role of Aaron Donald, sack-stripping Jared Goff for a fumble to give them field position. From there, it was easier to answer, especially since they’re making the most of their aggressive play-calls.

Brees has also thrown a touchdown, and Mark Ingram ran for one after returning from the concussion protocol.

This game sets up as a shootout, which you expect from the league’s top-ranked offense, even if the Rams are involved also.
