On Monday, Browns coach Hue Jackson said that quarterback Robert Griffin III had not yet been medically cleared for full contact after breaking a bone in his left shoulder but that the team expected it to happen soon.
It didn’t take long. Jackson announced at a press conference that Griffin, who has been practicing since last week, has been fully cleared on Tuesday.
Jackson also said on Monday that he wasn’t ready to make an announcement about who will be starting when the team returns from its bye week in Week 14 and that did not change overnight. Jackson did say, via Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, that Griffin’s throwing doesn’t look like it has been affected by the injury to his non-throwing shoulder.
With Cody Kessler out of the concussion protocol, Jackson will be making a choice between Kessler, Griffin and Josh McCown although McCown did not practice on Tuesday because of a swollen finger. Griffin started the opening game of the season and completed 12-of-26 passes for 190 yards and an interception before being knocked out by the shoulder injury.
