University of Texas running back D’Onta Foreman announced Wednesday that he’ll give up his final year of college eligibility and enter the 2017 NFL Draft.

Foreman is the leading rusher in FBS football with 2,028 yards.

Foreman told reporters he still would have entered the draft if Texas had retained coach Charlie Strong. Foreman had 323 carries this season and had at least 30 carries in six of his team’s last seven games. He carried the ball 51 times in a loss to Kansas earlier this month.

So, yes, it was time to go.

CBS Sports draft analyst Dane Brugler tweeted that Foreman currently projects as “a solid Day Two” prospect in a “loaded” running back class.
