The Chargers scored a touchdown on the first drive of the game to take a 7-0 lead over the Buccaneers.

Philip Rivers didn’t miss on the first drive and hit Dontrelle Inman on a 35-yard touchdown pass to cap a 75-yard touchdown drive.

Buccaneers wide receiver Cecil Shorts was carted off after taking a low but clean hit from Jahleel Addae on his team’s first drive. Almost the entire Bucs’ team came out to wish Shorts well as he was helped to the cart.

A few plays later, Chargers cornerback Casey Hayward intercepted Jameis Winston. The ensuing drive ended with Josh Lambo missing a 54-yard field goal.
