Running back Kelvin Taylor didn’t make the 49ers this summer after the team drafted him in the sixth round, but he’ll get a shot with another NFC West team in the final weeks of the regular season.

The Seahawks added Taylor to the active roster on Tuesday along with linebacker Ronald Powell. Powell had been on the Bears’ practice squad.

Taylor played at Florida in college and ran for 1,035 yards during his final season in Gainesville. Taylor is the son of former Jaguars great Fred Taylor, who was a teammate of Seahawks defensive tackle Tony McDaniel when McDaniel’s NFL career was just getting going in Jacksonville.

Running back Troymaine Pope and fullback Will Tukuafu were placed on injured reserve. Pope has a high ankle sprain and Tukuafu has a concussion.
