The Green Bay Packers signed linebacker Jordan Tripp on Wednesday to fill the roster spot created by Mike Pennel’s suspension.
Tripp appeared in seven games for the Seattle Seahawks this season while making one start against Tampa Bay three weeks ago. However, he sustained a thigh bruise and was placed on injured reserve to clear a roster spot for the addition of Mike Morgan.
Seattle then released Tripp from injured reserve with an injury settlement. The move allowed Tripp to sign with another team this season.
Pennel was suspended last week for the final four games of the regular season for a violation of the league’s substance-abuse policy.
Tripp has appeared in 32 career games with the Seahawks, Jacksonville Jaguars and Miami Dolphins with 18 tackles.
