A year ago, the Raiders and Chargers had hoped to share a stadium in Los Angeles. As the Chargers close in on inevitably sharing a stadium with the Rams in Los Angeles, the AFC West rivals don’t nearly enjoy the same kind of relationship they had at this time in 2015.
Via Eric D. Williams of ESPN.com, Raiders owner Mark Davis and Chargers owner Dean Spanos had an “animated conversation” at midfield prior to kickoff of their game in San Diego.
It’s unclear why the two men would be at odds. The Chargers have an obvious path to L.A., and the Raiders have an obvious path to Las Vegas. Both are getting what they want.
Maybe they simply have gone back to their dogs-and-cats relationship, now that they won’t be cohabiting in Southern California.
