Video of suspected Super Bowl thief emerges

Getty Images

The man who finagled nearly a decade ago the SpyGate video has gotten his hands on another interesting piece of visual evidence.

Jay Glazer of FOX has obtained video of the person who is suspected of entering the New England locker room after Super Bowl LI and stealing Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s jersey. It’s a man wearing a suit and a tie. FOX blurred his face for legal reasons.

The man can be seen moving among players and others in the bowels of NRG Stadium, with a backpack over his right shoulder. While narrating the video on Colin Cowherd’s show, Glazer said the man has something under his left arm while leaving the locker room.

According to the Associated Press, a former executive of Diario La Prensa is involved in the matter. An article posted at the newspaper’s website, based on my limited Spanish skills, identifies former director of the publication Mauricio Ortega as the alleged ladron, or thief.

And if it’s anything like the Spygate video, jolly Roger will have it destroyed, similar to when he was covering up for his buddy Kraft.

More crimes being perpetrated north of the border by those from south of the border. No big deal as this happens everyday all of the time now as Liberals want.

  11. jm91rs says: Mar 20, 2017 4:10 PM

They should be looking back at any other locker room footage they can find from events this guy was credentialed at. He may have some cool stuff in his collection.

I wonder how much a tainted jersey even goes for.

  18. macjacmccoy says: Mar 20, 2017 4:25 PM

Lol wow does this play into Trump’s and Brady’s hands. Of Course it was an immigrant who stole Brady’s jersey.

I used to work for a PI that investigated insurance and pension fraud. I’d have to get into work sites and businesses pretty frequently. If you “wear the uniform” and walk in behind others like you belonged in the group and look slightly busy like you were looking for someone or in the conversation with the people in front of you, you can skip security and get into all kinds of things you’d be shocked you could get into. So to get into a team locker room locker room as a non-player/ coach you apparently should…. be white & professional, wear a decent but plain blue suit, a photcopied badge on a lanyard, a laptop bag. The homework is the badge and judging the entrances and timing. The more chaotic the venue, the easier the doors.

And the Patriots will play in Mexico City next year… lock up your jerseys guys!!

  21. whatjusthapped says: Mar 20, 2017 4:33 PM

Leave the guy alone, he just wanted a stylish jersey to wear cutting the lawns.

Who said this guy was an immigrant? Who said he crossed illegally?

US citizen from northern Europe steals something: [crickets]

Someone from Mexico, citizen or not, steals something: OMG wall

  26. patsfan112 says: Mar 20, 2017 4:50 PM

I love how people are whining about how the FBI got involved over a “missing jersey” case when in reality this guy is a major criminal who stole millions of dollars worth of NFL equipment and risked the security of pro athletes as he wasn’t even a legit member of the media. This is a major crime/inside job, people.

  27. pencilmonkeymagic says: Mar 20, 2017 4:51 PM

So Fox blur his face for legal reasons but you’re allowed to print his name.

Is there a sliding scale applied when pointing fingers?

  29. bd233 says: Mar 20, 2017 5:06 PM

Good reason to keep the media out of the locker room.

  30. justbegbaby says: Mar 20, 2017 5:06 PM

The takeaway from all of this is that the Pats spend tremendous amounts of money with covert video Surveilance of all opposing teams but they fail to patrol their own locker room. Hey Tom, where are your clothes?

  31. rexgrossmanisgoat says: Mar 20, 2017 5:10 PM

I bet this isn’t the first time he’s done this lol he probably does this for a lot of local sporting events in his native country.

Thought this would be his big kahuna. He should’ve gone with an Edelman or White jersey–low reward but low risk.

  32. magnumpimustache says: Mar 20, 2017 5:41 PM

  33. ricko1112 says: Mar 20, 2017 5:44 PM

Spygate video? He’ll need to be more specific. 32 teams are guilty of Spygate. The only difference is, only one team has been caught doing it AFTER it became against the rules: the Denver Broncos.

  34. bostonsportsrock1963 says: Mar 20, 2017 5:45 PM

    —————–

Well yeah, every team spends a lot on filming opposing teams and its not even covert since its perfectly legal. Also Im not sure how you say they don’t have video monitoring in the locker room when we are all looking at a video from it.

One more reason to build the wall.

  41. pensfan1 says: Mar 20, 2017 9:29 PM

Ask Goodell how a media member from mexico, official or otherwise, had credentials for access to the locker room BEFORE everyone else had access. Maybe to push an agenda to get a team in Mexico City? I mean how could a “media official” from there have that kind of access? And not just this time but others as well. FBI ought to investigate Roger. For this among other things………………………….
