Vikings add an offensive lineman

The Vikings have added another player to the group of offensive linemen vying for spots on their 53-man roster.

The team announced on Tuesday that they have signed rookie Freddie Tagaloa. Tagaloa tried out for the team during their recent rookie minicamp.

Tagaloa spent the last two years at the University of Arizona and played in 17 games at left tackle and left guard. He played two years at Cal to kick off his college career and sat out the 2014 season after transferring to the other Pac-12 school.

The Vikings signed tackles Riley Reiff and Mike Remmers as free agents and also drafted a pair of offensive linemen this offseason.

To make room for Tagaloa, the Vikings have parted ways with defensive lineman B.J. Dubose. The 2015 sixth-round pick spent a year on the practice squad and a year on injured reserve since arriving in Minnesota.

Let me help you out with the perspective you should have on this signing: It ain’t gonna matter a lick who these lavender gob-guzzling, puke-drooling, left handed meatslappers sign, they ain’t winning a Lombardi…..period….exclamation point!

I could bash and criticize this move but packer trolls would claim that I am predicting a superbowl win. Depth move at the most, probably.be on or practice squad this year.

You know it’s the NFL dead season when the signing of a free agent offensive lineman, whose upside is the practice squad, is news. Maybe he could spice things up by attending Bud Grant’s garage sale or something.

The Packers were hoping to sign him and move him to cornerback.

Seems like a depth signing, camp body, destined for the practice squad.
Every team needs this and you never know, once you get a player in your system, he may turn into something usable or even special.

Colts and Vikings in Superbowl 52. Vikings will BE THE FIRST team to play in the SB where their stadium is the host site.

Another 2015 draftee not on team. By default 2016 draft has to be better.

A paper mache corpse would be an improvement to that line.

    ____

The 2015 draft brought Trae Waynes, Eric Kendricks, Stefon Diggs, and Danielle Hunter. It could be one of the best drafts in their history. The 2016 draft was a disaster so far. Perhaps you’ve forgotten what year this is?

You guys are arguing over which Vikings draft was the worst? That’s an argument that’s going to take a while…

Meanwhile, the Packers are looking to sign their 10th TE of the off season while doing little to improve one of the worst defenses in the NFL….

Can’t be any worse than the rest of those pikers on the worst line in football.

    ———————-

They’ve only signed 2 Tight Ends.
Most teams will carry 2 or 3.
And as Green Bay utilizes their TEs in a variety of ways, including spreading them out wide and moving them in and out of the backfield as Fullbacks, it’s imperative to have a few with different skill sets.

As for saying they’ve done little to improve their defense (ranked 22)
They invested their first 4 draft picks to that side of the football.
So insisting they haven’t tried to address it is really just silly.

I realize you are probably a bomb throwing troll making a feeble attempt at humor.
But, in the off chance you’re football accumen is a bit lacking, I’m glad I had a chance to clear this up for you.

That might work out. If the NFL allows the Vikings to have twelve men on offense with six on the offensive line.

……and yet, despite their shortcomings, they still own the Vikings since the start of this decade, 12-3.

    What’s with that?

Comments about this year’s Vikings signing a camp body and last year’s crappy Packers defense are relatively current topics….who cares about the beginning of the decade? The teams have split the last two seasons…which is a lot more relevant when talking trash about each other’s teams recent signings…

He better hope he plays well or fans will make his wife afraid to leave her house like they did to Christian Ponder’s pregnant wife. Nice article on CBS. Classy fans up there.
