Giants already stacking up injuries on the offensive line

You can’t really learn much about offensive lineman in minicamp since no one’s wearing pads, and contact is verboten.

But the Giants can tell that they’re running a little short on numbers at the moment, with two starters and a veteran backup missing time during the mandatory minicamp.

According to Ralph Vacchiano of SNY, left guard Justin Pugh has been out with a “tweak” in his back while left tackle Ereck Flowers and backup guard D.J. Fluker left practice with undisclosed injuries.

It’s not necessarily time to panic (who are we kidding, it’s never too soon to panic), as the Giants have six weeks until training camp.

The other two didn’t talk, but Pugh said he wasn’t worried about the injury being a lingering problem.

“I just got a little tweak in my back, so they’re just holding me out as a precaution,” Pugh said. “It’s not something where you want to press to hard right now in minicamp. I’ve got some things to look forward to.”

While Flowers was described as just “sore,” Fluker left the field with some degree of arm or shoulder problem and didn’t return.

The line was already a bit of a question for the Giants, so they better hope this doesn’t become a trend.

  1. Can not wait to watch Arizona’s elite pass rush up front destroy Eli Manning later this year!!! Elite OLB Chandler Jones & Markus Golden are going to absolutely destroy the Giants tackles, Flower’s is comically pathetic good luck trying to just slow Chandler Jones cause he definitely can’t block him.

  2. Maybe Brandon Marshall can play LT. Good thing the G-men addressed the need for o-line depth in the draft. What’s that? They waited until the 6th round you say? Well they’ve been grooming all those high o-line draft picks from the past few years right? Oh…that’s not a thing? Well at least Eli doesn’t throw a lot of picks when the pass rush is coming at him hard. The real story is what was Odell doing today.

  3. Anyone saying that the Giants didn’t address OL in the draft doesn’t know football. Plain and simple. The OL class was horrible this year. Flat out horrible. If Giants drafted an OL, we would be having worse issues now since that player would be green and also bad. Bisnowaty was taken at the appropriate time for his grade and if u follow CFB as you should if you’re a real fan, then you would know that. Study up and stop being just a fair weather fan.

  4. Giants will be OK on the O LINE.

Adding Rhett Ellison as TE will help as he is a great blocker. Fluker will also help..

They will be average to OK.

Giants have 4 Super Bowl Rings

The Eagles have No Super Bowl Rings

You’re so pathetically obsessed with a franchise that you constantly claim is so inferior to yours. It’s weird. Maybe it’s the Giants 4-14 record against the Eagles in the last nine years.
