The Seahawks brought quarterback Trevone Boykin back to the practice squad. Boykin was beaten out by Austin Davis for the backup job behind Russell Wilson.

In 2016, Boykin made the team as an undrafted rookie free agent. He played in two games in relief of Wilson, completing 13 of 18 passes for 145 yards with one touchdown and one interception last season.

But Boykin was inconsistent in the preseason, throwing four interceptions, including two Thursday night in the exhibition finale.

The Seahawks announced the other nine members of the practice squad: offensive tackle Jarron Jones, linebacker Austin Calitro, running back Mike Davis, tight end Tyrone Swoopes, receiver David Moore, receiver Cyril Grayson, center Joey Hunt, defensive tackle Garrison Smith and cornerback Mike Tyson.

  1. With the defense the Seahawks are putting on the field this year not losing games was more important than upside.

Here is to hoping Boykin spends a bit more time working on his mechanics in the offseason and a bit less time smoking weed in a car with drunk people driving.

  2. He ain’t going nowhere. I bet you would see him turn down a roster spot on another team now since it would only alienate Pete even further. He will be in the dog house a while, then if he keeps his chin up cuts down on turnovers, will eventually be back to his #2 spot….if he’s lucky.

  3. And this is why Colin Kaepernick didn’t get an offer from the Seahawks. No way he would want to get stashed on the practice squad. Boykin is happy to have a job and still be associated with the team. And while he’s working hard to prepare for his next big chance, he won’t be getting his name in countless articles

  4. I like T. McEvoy but K. Williams out played him this preseason big time. Should have kept Williams and picked McEvoy up on waivers. I think he would have had a better chance of still being there. I have a great feeling about this season. Our offense just looks so different and I don’t know what it is. They just look a lot crisper and more like an NFL style O. Maybe Bevell got a talking to by PC? I also think C. Carson will end up 1 or at the very least 2 on the depth chart halfway through the season.

  5. Believe it or not he’s still an asset. Russells injury last year was a close one. He again helped and made the coaches stress less with what he did with the healing process of multiple injuries . Picture Wilson going down after the first game done for the rest of the season!!Let that sink in for a bit..

    One.
    Year.
    Dynasty.

Ready for A-rod to carve you up Sunday?

You sound pretty confident. That Seahawks D is wicked and healthy. The best Rodgers will face this year. Poor Aaron doesn’t even have Olivia “The Beard” Munn to comfort him after this brutal game.
