First Jaguars injury report doesn’t include Leonard Fournette

Jaguars rookie running back Leonard Fournette has undeniable skill, but durability has become an issue. Only a couple of days after he proclaimed that NFL games (preseason) are easier than he thought they’d be, a foot injury kept him out of the next three.

The good news for Jaguars fans (and Fournette owners) is that he’s healthy. For now.

Fournette’s name appears nowhere on the Jaguars’ first injury report of the year, filed in advance of Sunday’s game against the Texans in Houston. With running back T.J. Yeldon missing practice due to a hamstring injury, that could mean a heavy workload for Fournette’s regular-season debut.

If he can stay healthy through it.

Elsewhere on the Jaguars’ first injury report, quarterback Blake Bortles fully participated in practice with a wrist injury. Limited participants were defensive end Dante Fowler (knee), safety Tashaun Gipson (ankle), cornerback Jalen Ramsey (hip), and receiver Dede Westbrook (core muscle injury).

  1. I like the Jags…..but….Blake Bortles, just is not the QB answer for them.
I think the entire team ought to fake an injury in protest over whomever is forcing the coaching staff and players to keep playing with BB!

Who do you suggest they start over him? Henne sucks and is just as turnover prone Bortles and Allen threw 3 intceptions in the last preseason game against guys who aren’t even on a team anymore.

Bortles sucks sure but he’s the best option they have.

  3. “…quarterback Blake Bortles…” There’s an oxymoron for ya! Being from the Syracuse area I like Doug Marrone and I like their general manager Tom Coughlin too but I gotta wonder??? They’ve got to do better than this guy!!!

  4. Probable: Blake Bortles
Questionable: Dante Fowler, Tashaun Gipson, Jalen Ramsey, Dede Westbrook
    Out: The Jaguars’ playoff hopes

  5. Fournet could have a huge impact on every game he plays in and he could help the jags win some games.
Or he could perform similar to how the last RV they drafted who was supposed to be their ” workhorse back” I’m referring to the yeldon.
Yeldon makes 2 or 3 moves behind the line and looses 3 yards.
    He’s horrible.
Fournet is prolly better than he is….
    We’ll start finding out Sunday

Allen isn’t worth mentioning since he’s on the Rams now.
