Who wins the AFC West?

Wednesday’s PFT Live has not one but two questions of the day. In addition to picking a defensive player of the year, you’ll also get to pick a winner in the AFC West.

This one is a poll question. So pick a winner, argue it out in the comments, and then tune in during the show to see what Chris Simms (who cares) and I (please care) have to say about it.

If you missed it earlier, Broncos linebacker Von Miller joins the program. So should you. We head to NBCSN at 7:00 a.m. ET, and we’ll continue to trudge through the day-before-the-season-begins edition of the show.

  1. Patriots, 23-14 v AFCW, with Brady. But don’t be too downhearted – he has a winning record against every division in the NFL and this one is actually his worst (his best being 35-6 v AFCS).

  2. I am a Raider fan and that poll is bogus. Until RMac can get this Defense in the right direction to beat the chiefs, its the Chiefs. DC has never beat the chiefs and the Raiders always make way to many mistakes when playing the chiefs. RMac had a chance to make this season great, but he choosen a different road and now he is lost. Good luck with this season RMac, you are totally responsible how it goes.

    6 14 Rate This

How’s that record against Denver son?

  4. The Raiders schedule is difficult this year. So I don’t see it happening.

We won’t see it happen in LA on CBS anyway as the local game this week is the hapless Rams vs the Luckless Colts. The rating will be a 0.1. I’m going to school party instead.

  5. The Raiders are overrated right now, and the Chiefs are underrated. The Chargers are the kind of team that could come out of nowhere. One of the league’s more interesting divisions right now. I think the Chiefs are the safe choice to win the division right now, but really any of them could.

  6. It will be either Chiefs or Broncos. Raiders have no defense. Charges are too flukey and for whatever reason they always fall apart. Broncos and chiefs play great defense and play mediocre offense, and that’s a recipe that can get you into the playoffs. Raiders fans are so enamored with their 2 star players that they actually think they have a chance to do anything much less win their division. Just because you have Kmac doesn’t mean you have a great defense. You guys were ranked 26 in total defense last season and nothing has changed. With a tougher schedule this season raiders will be exposed. Can’t wait to witness!

  7. I am yet another Raiders fan losing confidence in Reggie. He won’t draft a defensive back unless the guy has a sob story and a fake leg. Picking Amari Cooper and Khalil Mack are good choices anyone would’ve made. Look at Reggie’s other first-round picks. Obviously Carr was a fantastic pick in the second round. The other picks in round two? Anyone? I’m not on the Reggie bandwagon anymore. Ya know, Reggie, Del Rio, and Norton all played linebacker. That’s good because they’re probably going to have to suit up. 👎

  8. If the Raiders don’t get Sea Bass in the fold, their season becomes real iffy. Derek Carr is a spectacular QB, but may be eclipsed by KC’s Patrick Mahomes. BTW, the prospect of Mahomes and Tyreek Hill in the same backfield is every bit as enticing as that of Carr and Amari Cooper; however, that is for 2018 and thereafter. The Raiders will be competitive and a very tough out, but KC will take the division.

  9. The Raiders defense failed to significantly improve in the offseason and Lynch is a downgrade from Murray at RB. Carr is an excellent young QB and he’ll have to carry the team again. Also the schedule is tough this year.

As much as I hate to say it, I think the Chiefs have to be favored to win the AFCW and the Raiders will probably finish with around 9-10 wins which may be good enough for a Wild Card.

I think Denver will finish in the basement with around 5-6 wins and the Chargers could finish .500 if Bosa continues in the same vein as his rookie season.

he is also the only qb ever to be suspended for cheating

  11. Love these idiot’s including other raiders fan crying about the defense, a defense that only lost 4 games in the regular season last year, a defense who was 3rd in the league in turnovers and a defense for the most part consisted of rookies and free agents playing together for the first time last year in a new system. bottom line when they needed a stop to win they got it. So keep hating on them or trying to find a reason why they won’t be great again this season and they will still keep winning. Only injuries derailed this team last year, not the defense.

Raider fan my butt! Derek Carr’s first professional win came against the kc chiefs. Nobody agrees with every decision their teams gm make but part of being a true fan and not a wanna be band wagon fan is supporting your team. I don’t agree with everything he’s done either but his job is a little harder than reading a few news posts everyday.

Way to pluck the stats. How many times has Carr beat the Chiefs since that Thursday night home game which did improve the Raiders 0 – 12 season record? Answer: None. Seven straight loses since.

  14. I don’t see the Chiefs doing it. They’re replacing Poe with lesser talent in Bennie Logan who is no Poe. Ragland wasn’t healthy last year and is a big question mark, same with their d-line as Hali is 33 and isn’t getting younger. It remains to be seen if Houston can stay healthy as he’s only played 16 games the last 2 seasons. Losing Maclin will hurt and I don’t see Tyreek ‘pregnant woman beater’ Hill becoming a top 10 WR. Let’s not act like Oakland is the only one with personnel issues.

  15. KC -starting a rookie RB and has unproven WR
    OAK-no secondary
DEN-no QB. cant go far with subpar QB play
LAC-Flukey, no O-Line and cant stay healthy

KC wins the AFCwest. OAK takes a wildcard

  16. The Chiefs look like the team to beat. Unfortunately their QB has a noodle arm that will hinder them in December and January. The Chiefs win the division then go one and done in the playoffs.

  17. KC will take it again. The Raiders cant beat the Chiefs and Oakland has huge deficiencies on defense (linebackers and secondary) and a difficult schedule. Chargers and Broncos? Meh.

  18. I’m a Charger team fan….not a Charger organization fan. I’m not sure what to say about this relocated team. I’m not sure they’ve made a mental adjustment to this disastrous re-location. So far, things are unraveling.

  19. Chiefs by default @ 10-6
Raiders D will hold them down 9-7
    Chargers will be Chargers 7-9
Broncos schedule is too brutal with no QB 6-10
