Who wins the AFC East?

We’ve done it with the seven other divisions, and now we’re doing it with the division that really doesn’t need it, because everyone knows who’s going to win it: The AFC East.

Pick the Patriots in the poll question below, unless you’ve lost your mind, and then tune in to Thursday’s PFT Live to hear just how to 100 percent they came.

We’ll spend plenty of time talking about the Chiefs-Patriots game throughout the show, along with other news and notes and analysis as Week One has officially arrived. I’m in Boston, Chris Simms is in Connecticut, and you should be listening either on NBC Sports Radio at 6:00 a.m. ET or NBCSN at 7:00 a.m. ET.

  1. I wouldn’t assume that. NE has a s good a chance as the other teams but you never know. BB himself would be the first to tell you that last year means nothing and NE hasn’t earned or won anything yet. Couple of injuries, couple of strange plays can make the difference.

  2. Seriously? There are people out there who think the Dolphins, Bills, or Jets will win the AFC East? What have they been smoking? Methinks they are just doing it out of spite.Let’s get real here, the Patriots will win the division by the middle of November. The only possible question is by how big a margin.

  3. Yeah the Patriots being in the AFC Least get red carpet treatment on their way to home field advantage throughout the playoffs every single season… very fair for the other 31 teams in the NFL. SMH

  4. I’m a Bills fan.

I go into EVERY season thinking/hoping that the Bills are somehow going to gel and become the team that dethrones the Patriots from the top of the division. Preseason is one of the few times I can do that, ok?

I’m NOT going to let you take that away from me…

(Intellectually – I acknowledge that this year has a VERY high probability that it isn’t going to be that way; but I refuse to throw in the towel before even the first game, dangit! So yes – I voted the Bills.)

While I sort of agree with your basic premise, the “AFC Least” has been proven untrue countless times.

You can’t blame the Patriots for taking advantage of weaker division years, it’s what good teams do.

New Orleans had quite a few years in a weak division and they just didn’t capitalize on it, which had nothing to do with the Saints- bad defense narrative. The Packers are also in a weak division, and they have squandered quite a few games in the last few years which causes them to have to do late season heroics, and play to many playoff games on the road.

As a Patriots fan I can totally respect this. I was the same way with your Bill’s back in the early 90’s. “Why can’t the Pats be more like the Bills?” It’s a big cycle. Hang in there and your long wait will pay off at some point. The longer the wait the bigger the payoff. From one fan to another, good luck.

  7. Even the Patriots know it’s not a given. You have to play the games. Who am I kidding, Pats go 14-2 and clinch by Thanksgiving.

Seriously?? The NFC South has proven to be one of the top divisions year in and year out and they tend to cannibalize each other, something the Patriots haven’t seen in over a decade and know nothing about. The last two teams to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl came from the NFCS. Nuff said.

They have a BETTER record outside the AFC East so maybe you’d like them twice a year wreaking your weakling conference.
