Lawrence Timmons reinstated, will play Sunday

AP

The Dolphins have reinstated Lawrence Timmons, and the linebacker will play Sunday against the Saints, PFT  has confirmed.

A week ago, the team suspended Timmons indefinitely after he went AWOL the day before the Dolphins’ season opener against the Chargers. Coach Adam Gase declined to answer questions about Timmons on Monday.

The Steelers made Timmons a first-round pick in 2007. He recorded 35.5 sacks and played and started every Steelers’ regular-season game since 2010.

The Dolphins signed him to a two-year, $12 million deal in the offseason.

Miami made a trade with New Orleans for linebacker Stephone Anthony a few hours after announcing Timmons’ suspension last week.

  1. I think even as a Dolphins fan you have to laugh at how fast losing to the Jets caused Gase to go back on all the things he said he wouldn’t allow.

So welcome back Timmons, because we need help lol

  2. I would see everyone’s point if the Dolphins defense looked bad. The issue was with the offense being shut out (i know they scored 6 points but they were shutout).

  3. You can take the linebacker out of Pittsburgh, but you can’t take Pittsburgh out of the linebacker…

  4. If any of you people that posted negative comments about Gase then you aren’t really following Miami. The reason he was taken off suspension has nothing to do with a loss to the Jets. And the reason he was suspended “indefinitely” and not for a certain time frame was so that he could be brought back at any time. Gase does not and will not fold for that kind of pressure. Timmons made good on his mistake and time to move forward. The loss to the Jets was all on the offense anyway.

Idiots.. he said he was suspended indefinitely. So by reinstating him for this week’s game, how again is that going back on his beliefs?

So, technically, indefinite could mean one game. However, in the NFL, it has never meant one game. Generally, when I have seen it used, it has meant the entire season. But yes, Gase is tough, and great, and fair, and handsome, and smells nice.

Or, he waffled, and now Cutler is your leader. Either way, no playoffs.

  6. This is pretty much the same exact thing they did with Ajayi last season but this was just obviously much more public.

Exactly…It would have just been a “1 game suspension”.

My goodness, some of these team simply never learn.

I can guarantee you if this was a Pats player, BB would have cut the guy regardless of how
    good he is.

Bill B started to cut whoever he wanted after he got his SB crediit. So once you have a few rings under your belt you can do alot of things. Come on people, the Jets won because their defense outplayed the offense of Miami. So bringing back Timmons has nothing to do with the Jets

Funny how this “patriots fan” is normally the first one to comment on nearly every Dolphins post and has the most comments by far, yet he rarely comments on Giants stories….I wonder why?

He seems to have an obsession with the Dolphins, though.

  10. Look how fast all the trolls react to Miami’s news, do people just sit around waiting for our news to spout off their off the cuff, uniformed opinions…

    LOL!!!!
Miami loses to the lowly Jets and Adam Gase swiftly compromises his own leadership.

This was Gase’s last word on the Timmon’s situation, “I think every situation is different, and I would say you can be forgiven if the right steps are taken.” But hey, why let facts get in the way of stepping out from under the troll bridge and taking a shot? Millennials never seem to let facts bother them.

Kind of like you and your coat of many colors on Pats threads chip. The difference is most Pats fans cringe every time that child posts.

  14. Fins were terrible on offense but the defense was nothing special either. That Jets game showed IMO whats still wrong with Miami. Dolphins on Sunday could have got beat by any one of the teams in my bowling league. No on-field leadership. The only 2 players that like contact are Landry and Ajayi. Everyone else looked like they were too inconvenienced to be playing football. If Timmons can bring some Pittsburg with him to this Miami team I’ll wave the terrible towel to welcome him.

Oh chip, it was funny you posting 14 times on that thread without using even one of fish fan id’s, not as hysterical as when your jaycutlerleads id has your own team going 6-10 but still pretty funny. If you had any familiarity with concessions you’s know they count cups and expect the register total to match the cups consumed. As a result some idiot at the vending stand dropped the ball and will no doubt be dealt with accordingly.

You got some serious issues man. Did someone accuse you of the multiple ID thing or something? For a Vikings fan, you seem to be all over the place, huh?

The lies flow so easily for you chip. I routinely correct that tool while you are bust embarrassing fish fans. What’s truly sad isn’t just your transparency but you actually seem to believe your own fantasies.

  21. Of course Belichick wouldn’t cut Brady if he did something like that

But its also fair to say that it is highly unlikely Brady would just disappear without letting Bill know what was going on

  22. For all the idiots that do not know the meaning of INDEFINITE: “not clearly defined or determined; not precise or exact: not definite; without fixed or specified limit; unlimited.”

Notice the ‘NOT DEFINITE’ section. Or not clearly defined!!!!!!

  23. LMAO the JETS beat some Fish ass! Nothing you say or whatever, Jets came to play, so what bring Timmons back, Fins have the better team on paper but did not bring their hearts to play, I’m pissed a little, should have shut them out, but the extra point miss was kind of ok, I guess!!!!!! O by the way I didn’t see any Jets kneeling for the anthem, blame Trump!

  24. I hope Timmons is rested!

The Phins recorded over 4,500 round-trip miles to play the Chargers. They added over 2,100 miles to play the Jets. They will add another 8,800 round trip miles going to London this weekend to play the Saints.

They had their bye (rest/healing) week taken away, or moved to week-one. This is unprecedented, for a team to have to travel more than 13,5000 miles in three weeks, and more so without a bye in the season.

Due to circumstances created by Mothers Nature (or if you believe in such, God/Buddah/Ala/Bahaullah/Whomever) the London game should have been moved back to Miami as requested by the Miami Dolphins!

Lawrence Timmons BETTER show up, in more ways than one!

Actually BENCHED the very popular Drew Bledsoe in 2001 when likely every other NFL coach, wouldn’t have.

It has nothing to do with winning rings. It has to do with leadership, principle and consistency.

    ABSOLUTELY.
