Tom Brady back at practice, Chris Hogan still out

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady sat out of practice on Wednesday due to what’s listed as an Achilles injury for the second consecutive week and things continued to play out the way they did last week on Thursday.

Per multiple reports from Patriots practice, Brady was back on the field and working with the rest of the team as they continued their preparations for the Bills. Brady spoke to the media last Friday and said he felt great, something that certainly seemed to be the case when he threw four touchdown passes in a victory over the Dolphins.

Brady wasn’t the only player back at practice after sitting on Wednesday. Linebacker Trevor Reilly and tackle LaAdrian Waddle were both on the field as well.

Waddle’s return puts him in line for another start at right tackle this week as Marcus Cannon remains out with an ankle injury. Wide receiver Chris Hogan also remains out for the Patriots and has not played since hurting his shoulder in Week Eight.

Glad that Tom and Bill never think that way. There’s a little game with Buffalo this weekend that the Pats need to win.

  2. It’s great to have each and every one of them back practicing.

Brady, because he is the greatest football player in history.

Waddle, because he has been doing really well protecting the greatest football player in history.

…and Reilly, because he looked messed up after last week. I was afraid that he was REALLY effed. Glad he is ok.

How is he gonna get the steam he needs on those 2 yard throws with that achilles injury?

When his 8.3 YPA is the highest among leading QBs (Aaron Rodgers is/was 7.2) this year, your salty comment just make you look an ignorant fool.

Brady is currently #3 in the league in completions of 20+ yards in the air, and #1 in the league in completions of 40+ yards in the air this season.

According to you he’s throwing a pass 2 yards, and bobbling it along 19 more times 2 yards at time on each pass of 40+ yards while the other team simply stands around and watches.

    SMH and LOLZ

Not sure who the we is in ‘Were onto PIttsburg.’ After the Buffalo game the Patriots will be on to MIami one would think a anyone qualified to use ‘we’ would know that. Are you suffering a case of Tomlinitis or are you planning a 2 week sojourn in Western PA?

apparently he’s thrown many of them right over your head

  8. .
The Patriots need to get Hogan back. They are at risk of becoming the Gronk and Cooks show. I would expect the Patriots to run more than usual this week. The Bills have not been particularly strong versus the run this year.

Disagree. Even without Hogan, they are loaded beyond belief.

Brady needs to open that Circle of Trust like Jack did in Meet the Parents. Burkhead is a great weapon and Dorsett/Allen need to be used. That’s on McDaniels and Brady. And, that also leaves Amendola, all clutch, in the slot.

Wait on Hogan until he is good and ready to dust Pitt in 2 weeks.

  10. I think Hogan should take his time and be fully ready/healthy, no need to rush back for now. Maybe if he’s back for the Steelers game that would he helpful, otherwise rest up until the playoffs when he’ll really be needed. Maybe some reps in Week 17 just to get the rust off.

If I did, I surely wouldn’t pollute it with Patriots football.

The Gronk and Cooks show has a very strong backing band. Amendola, Burkhead, White, Lewis, Dorsett just to name a few. Ill leave Allen out of it even though he has been coming along as of late, but they have a guy named Mitchell joining soon.

Whatever happened to Gilleslee? Does he have a case of Notlookinggoodenoughinpracticeitis?

  13. They said 4-6 wks on Hogan and it’s been 4. No need to rush him, the offense has been fine. Hope to see him in Pittsburgh in 2 wks.

Yet we are ACTUALLY onto Pittsburg without saying anything. While moving week to week we will still destroy them. Welcome to Pats nation Harrison

  15. Hogan probably won’t be back until either the Steelers game or the game after it. Patriots still have Cooks, Gronkowski, Amendola, Burkhead, Dorsett, Lewis, and White as passing catching targets for Brady so it’s not like Hogan needs to rush back.

  16. “2 yard Tom” has completed 1687 passes this year, if you go by the numbers.

That’s got to lead the league I’m guessing.

  17. Yeah, got to love the 2 yard Tom jokes. I wish 2 yard Tom was my QB this Sunday. I hope it’s a good game and somehow we can play really good defense and pull the upset. It’s points I worry about. See what happens.

  18. “Welcome to Pats nation Harrison”

Welcome to Pats nation? I’ve been posting on this site for over 10 years and am well known as a Pats fan here. Where have you been?

And if you really think Belichick, Brady and the rest are thinking at all about Pittsburgh with games against the Bills and Fins before then, you’re the one whose new to Pats nation lolz.

Don’t you worry. 🙂 The 5 time Super Bowl Champion, winner of more Super Bowl Rings then any QB that’s ever played the game, more Super Bowl MVPs than any QB who has ever plsyed the game, winningest QB of all time in the history of the league, and the man who all intelligent football fans refer to as the greatest QB that ever graced an NFL football field with his presence will be just fine. 🙂

Too bad about Rodgers 🙂 When it’s his and his team’s turn to get whooped by the GOAT don’t feel bad. It really is an honor and a privilege to get completely demolished by the best QB the game has ever seen.

    🙂
    🙂

  20. Rodgers is so charminy soft. 🙂 Hilarious that people want to talk up that guy and put him on the level of the GOAT.

    I don’t think so cupcakes!

C’mon man….Rodgers is a great QB and tough guy. He would do well to start getting rid of the ball a little sooner. But it really is a shame….at Pats/Packers SB would have been a great game. Beating up on the Eagles or the Saints just doesn’t seem the same to me….
